Rhodium Group is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes Rhodium Group’s policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information. This Privacy Policy applies to the following website addresses: rhg.com, impactlab.org, njcoastalrisk.com, mper.rhg.com, and cleaninvestmentmonitor.org – the “Sites.” By using the Sites, you agree that your use is governed by this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy and we encourage you to check this Privacy Policy for updates. Your continued use of the Sites affirms your agreement to any changes in this Privacy Policy.

Collection

Contact Forms

When you visit the Sites, we collect Personal Information that you choose to disclose to us, such as your name and email address, by signing up for our newsletter for example. For purposes of this Policy, “Personal Information” is any information that can be related to a unique individual or household.

If you opt-in to receive our newsletter, your first and last name and email address will automatically be added to our mailing list. This information may be shared with a third party, such as Mailchimp, to send emails to subscribers about new research and other updates.

Rhodium Group may also collect your name and email address if you contact us for general information purposes and request to be added to our contact lists. This information may be shared with a third party, such as Mailchimp, for the purpose of providing you with the information you requested. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of the email. You can also unsubscribe by emailing us at [email protected].

Cookies and Other Technologies

When you visit the Sites or receive emails from us, we may store or retrieve information on your browser or device, mostly in the form of cookies, but also in the form of third-party tracking tools, such as eTags, “zero pixel GIFs” and Google Analytics. This information might be about your use of the Sites, your interaction with any emails we send you, your user preferences, or your device. We generally use this information to improve your user experience of the Sites. This information may be aggregated with other users in an anonymous way to report to third parties, for example clients and funders. You can opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how you use the Sites, through this tool: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Note that the Sites will continue to operate as described in this Privacy Policy, whether or not a “Do Not Track” signal or similar mechanism is received from your browser. This is because the “Do Not Track” mechanism is a draft standard of the W3C and is not fully completed. However, you can opt out of all cookies through your browser settings, although this may affect the functioning of the website.

Use

We collect, use and disclose your Personal Information in our normal course of business for the following purposes:

  • Establishing and maintaining communications with you;
  • Where you have requested information from us, assisting you in the completion of your request and the assessment of your eligibility for any such request;
  • Responding to your inquiries about our products or services;
  • Allowing Rhodium to notify you of certain products or services offered by us or a trusted business partner;
  • Meeting legal, security, processing and regulatory requirements;
  • Protecting against fraud, suspicious or other illegal activities; and
  • Compiling statistics for analysis of the Sites and our business.

Disclosure

Similarly to how we use Personal Information, we may disclose Personal Information to service providers, and sometimes third parties, for various purposes. To this end, we may disclose Your Personal Information to the following entities for the purposes associated with each entity as noted below:

  • To our third-party service providers, who provide services such as website hosting, data storage, data analysis, payment processing, order fulfillment, IT services and infrastructure, customer service, email delivery and administration, credit card processing, auditing and other similar services to enable them to provide services;

  • As we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our Affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, or that of you, our Affiliates or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

Retention of Information

We keep Personal Information until no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or other permitted use.

Reviewing, Changing, or Deleting Information

You may request to review, change, or delete any Personal Information you have on file with us at any time by sending an email to [email protected]. You may opt out from our email newsletter at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of the email or by sending an email to [email protected]

State Privacy Rights

Certain jurisdictions provide their residents states a number of rights as they relate to Personal Information. These are the “right to know”, the “right to delete”, and the “right to opt-out”. We do not discriminate against you because you exercised any your rights under applicable state law or this Privacy Policy.

Right to Know

You may request Rhodium provide you the specific pieces of Personal Information that Rhodium has about you; categories of Personal Information we have collected about you; categories of sources from which the Personal Information is collected; categories of Personal Information that Rhodium sold or disclosed for a business purpose about you; categories of third parties to whom the Personal Information was sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling Personal Information. Please note that much of the information you can make a request for is already contained in this Policy. Should you wish to exercise this right, please see the section below which explains how to do so. If you do not have an account with Rhodium, we may ask for some Personal Information in order to verify your identity and your rights to the data subject to your request.

Right to Delete

Some state law gives its residents a limited right to request deletion of their Personal Information. However, this right is limited by a number of exceptions. Fundamentally, if Rhodium has a permissible need to retain Personal Information, we are not under an obligation to delete such information, even when requested. Generally, we retain Personal Information so we may complete the transaction for which the Personal Information was collected, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between us and you; detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity; debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality of our online properties; enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with Rhodium; comply with a legal obligation; or otherwise use your Personal Information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which your provided the information. As such, we generally do not accept requests to delete Personal Information. However, we will respond to requests to remove Personal Information from some of our systems as a part of a request to close or otherwise disable a registered account. If you would like to request deletion of Personal Information, please see the section below which explains how to do so. If you do not have an account with Rhodium, we may ask for some Personal Information in order to verify your identity and your rights to the data subject to your request.

Right to Opt-Out

Rhodium does not share Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes. As such, Rhodium does not provide an “opt-out” for third party marketing.

Exercising privacy rights

If you are a resident of a jurisdiction which provides you the above rights and would like to exercise any of your rights you may do so by using the mechanisms noted in the “Contact” section below. Certain state law permits their residents to designate an agent to manage their rights under that state’s law. If you would like to designate an agent to manage your privacy preferences, you may do so by contacting us. Note that we may ask for some Personal Information in order to verify your identity and your rights to the data subject to your request. We will also need sufficient Personal Information about your authorized agent to be able to identify them. As part of this process, you must have permission from your authorized agent to disclose their Personal Information to us for the purpose of acting as your agent.

Security of Information

Rhodium Group is committed to the security of your information and we maintain reasonable procedures to protect your information. However no data transmission is completely secure and it could be unlawfully intercepted. Rhodium Group cannot and does not guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us through the Sites or other ways.

Data Collection from Children

Rhodium Group does not knowingly or intentionally collect information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not provide any Personal Information about yourself to us. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

If there is any material change to your rights under this Policy, we will provide you with notice of such change 30 calendar days prior to the changes going into effect. As part of this notice, we may post a notice of the change on a Site in a clear and conspicuous manner for the 30 calendar day notice period. Rhodium may also communicate the change via email or postal mail if this is the way that we normally correspond with you.
